The challenge facing travel agents today

Your margins are shrinking. Your clients need more. Online booking platforms have compressed travel agent commissions for years — meanwhile, your clients are asking about services you don't currently offer.

Flight and hotel commissions squeezed by OTAs — your margins per booking get thinner every year

Clients asking about medical treatment abroad — and you're sending them to someone else (or nowhere)

High-value clients travelling for healthcare without you — revenue you're leaving on the table

Keep your travel commission. Add treatment commission on top.

You book the flights, hotels, and transfers — and keep that commission as you normally would. M1H pays you an additional 5–15% of the patient's total treatment cost. Two revenue streams from the same client.

Example: Cardiac surgery patient travelling to Turkey

Your Travel Commission

$150–$300

Flights, hotel, transfers (your normal earnings)

M1H Treatment Commission

$1,200–$2,500

5–15% of treatment cost (paid by My 1Health monthly)

Total Per Client

$1,350–$2,800

5–10x what you'd earn from travel alone

Illustrative example based on typical flight/hotel commissions and blended 8–10% M1H treatment commission. Actual rates confirmed during onboarding.

What the stacked commissions look like across procedures

Procedure (Destination) Your Travel Comm. M1H Treatment Comm. Total Per Client
Cardiac surgery (Turkey) $150–$300 $1,200–$2,500 $1,350–$2,800
Knee replacement (India) $100–$200 $500–$900 $600–$1,100
Oncology treatment (Thailand) $150–$300 $1,500–$4,000 $1,650–$4,300
Fertility / IVF (UAE) $100–$250 $400–$1,200 $500–$1,450
Dental implants (Mexico) $50–$100 $200–$500 $250–$600
Cosmetic surgery (Turkey) $100–$200 $300–$800 $400–$1,000

Illustrative ranges based on typical travel commissions and blended 8–10% M1H treatment commission midpoint. Actual rates confirmed during onboarding with your RPM.

You handle the travel. We handle the healthcare.

Clear division of responsibilities. You stay in your zone of expertise. We handle the medical side.

What You Do
  • Identify clients who need or want healthcare abroad
  • Introduce the M1H hospital network and treatment options
  • Book flights, hotels, and ground transfers (as you normally would)
  • Submit the patient inquiry through the RPS platform
  • Stay the client's main point of contact throughout the journey
What M1H Handles
  • Hospital matching, treatment plans, and cost estimates
  • Medical record transfers and appointment scheduling
  • Hospital coordination and clinical case management
  • Commission calculation, reconciliation, and monthly payment
  • Case escalation support if clinical complications arise

Your dedicated RPM guides you through your first cases step by step. Many agents start with wellness retreats, dental, or cosmetic referrals — familiar travel services with healthcare commissions attached — before expanding into complex medical procedures. You're never expected to make clinical decisions.

Here's what this looks like in practice:

UK agent

A corporate client mentions their finance director needs a knee replacement but faces a 14-month NHS wait. You introduce the M1H option — JCI-accredited hospitals in Turkey and India with 2-week wait times. You book the flights and hotel as normal. M1H handles the hospital match, treatment coordination, and medical records. The client gets treated. You earn $600–$1,100 instead of the $100–$200 you'd have earned on a standard business trip.

Australian agent

A couple planning a Bali honeymoon asks about combining their trip with a smile makeover. You suggest an M1H-partnered dental clinic offering porcelain veneers and whitening at a fraction of Australian prices. You arrange flights and the resort as usual. M1H handles the clinic match, appointment scheduling, and treatment coordination. Both procedures are completed before the holiday begins. You earn $500–$800 on top of your standard travel commission.

Nigerian agent

A client mentions they've been trying to conceive and asks about IVF options overseas. You introduce a JCI-accredited fertility clinic in Turkey offering full IVF cycles at a fraction of local private costs. You arrange flights and hotel accommodation as normal. M1H handles the clinic match, cycle scheduling, and all medical coordination. The client completes treatment and returns home. You earn $800–$1,400 on what began as a routine travel inquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question? Our team is available to help.
Do I need healthcare or medical experience?

No. The CHWTP certification teaches everything from the ground up — industry knowledge, hospital accreditation, patient management, ethics, and coordination. People from travel, nursing, business, and entrepreneurial backgrounds all start from the same foundational modules. The only prerequisite is a genuine commitment to helping patients access care abroad.

How much does it cost to get started?

The CHWTP certification is currently $199 for the founding cohort (standard price: $499). This is your only upfront cost. There are no additional platform fees, subscription charges, or hidden costs. When you pass, you receive full access to 350+ hospitals, the RPS platform, a dedicated RPM, and all marketing materials — included in the certification fee.

How long before I earn my first commission?

Most new partners who actively work with their RPM complete their first successful referral within 30–60 days of passing the certification. The timeline depends on your market, your network, and how actively you pursue patient referrals. Your RPM will help you identify the best corridors and hospitals for your first cases.

Can I do this part-time alongside my current job?

Yes — many facilitators start part-time while maintaining their current income. The CHWTP course is self-paced (most complete it in 4–8 weeks at 5–7 hours per week). After certification, you can manage referrals around your existing schedule. As your volume grows, many partners transition to full-time facilitation.

Can I add this to my existing business - travel agency, clinic or consultancy?

Yes. Many partners run medical tourism facilitation as a service within their existing business — travel agencies, healthcare consultancies, wellness practices, and insurance brokerages. My 1Health operates as your back-office infrastructure. Patients see your brand, not ours. You can offer healthcare travel coordination as a premium add-on to your current services without setting up a separate entity.

I am based in a destination country (India, Thailand, Turkey) - can I still join?

Absolutely. Many of our partners operate in destination countries, coordinating both inbound international patients arriving for treatment and outbound referrals to other destinations. If you're based in India, for example, you can help international patients access hospitals in your city while also referring Indian patients to facilities in Turkey, Thailand, or the UAE. Your local hospital knowledge and language skills are significant advantages.

How and where do I get paid?

My 1Health pays commissions to 160+ countries in USD or your choice of 140+ local currencies. You also get a built-in USD wallet where you can hold your earnings and withdraw whenever you choose, with a minimum withdrawal of $250. Commissions are reconciled monthly with full transparency through the RPS platform.

What if something goes wrong with a patient's treatment?

All hospitals in the My 1Health network carry professional indemnity insurance, and the network is composed of JCI, NABH, and TEMOS-accredited facilities. If a clinical complication arises, My 1Health provides case escalation support — working directly with the hospital on your behalf. You are never left to manage a clinical issue alone. Your RPM is your first point of contact for any case escalation.

Is the programme available in languages other than English?

The CHWTP programme is currently delivered in English. Arabic and French localisation are planned for later this year, with additional languages to follow based on partner demand. If English is not your first language, many of our partners complete the programme successfully — the content is written in clear, accessible English and your RPM can provide support in your preferred language during onboarding and case management.

I'm already a facilitator with experience. Is this page for me?

If you're already operating with your own hospital relationships and patient base, our Established Facilitators pathway may be a better fit — no certification required, flexible terms, and a different onboarding process designed for experienced operators.

Your clients are already travelling for healthcare. Are you earning from it?

Medical tourism for travel agents is one of the highest-margin opportunities in the travel industry. If you're wondering how to add medical tourism to your travel agency, the My 1Health Referral Partner Network enables travel agents to earn treatment commissions (5–15% of total treatment cost) on top of their existing travel commissions — by connecting their clients to 350+ JCI-accredited hospitals across 20+ countries.
